I am in Istanbul and I love it.  Enchanting. Charming. Seductive?  Awesome, at least, and chocked full of delicious in the food department.

I’m looking for an apartment and have lots of pictures and stories, but let’s start with a video, shall we?

This is footage shot on the trusty Canon Powershot from a day of walking around in Istanbul (and a bit in the plane from Bucharest).  After a bit of fighting against it, I finally crumbled and picked the song.  Feels almost obligatory. Enjoy!

Sometimes the classics are the best. You make me yearn for my family’s homeland. Okay fine, they’re my in-laws, but still . . .

    Nathan,
I’m glad you are following your dream to travel the world. There are very few people who will ever have the same opportunity to experience the world like you have throughout the past few months!
Good luck and keep posting. I enjoy reading your updates.

I’m jealous that you’ve gotten to see the Hagia Sophia…I learned a crapload about it in art history during the ol’ IU days, and my professor always made a huge deal about how awesome it is. Looks like you’re having a great time!

I have a question but can’t find an email contact anywhere…

You’re using a EEE PC are you not? When it fried in Peru (I think that’s where you were) was it b/c of uneven power supply? What are you doing about that now?

We are using a EEE PC and are thinking about a surge protector but haven’t found one that will work everywhere. Advice?
